Things to do in DUMBO and the Brooklyn Bridge

DUMBO is a small pocket of cobblestone streets wedged between the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges, reachable by the F train to York St or the A/C to High St. 5-2 hours, though shops and restaurants here run at Manhattan-level prices.

The classic photo spot on Washington Street, framing the Manhattan Bridge, draws a genuine queue at peak times and sits on a cobblestone street still open to honking traffic, not a pedestrian plaza. Below the neighbourhood, Brooklyn Bridge Park is free, with Jane's Carousel charging a few dollars a ride.

Walking the Brooklyn Bridge on foot from DUMBO into Manhattan takes 20-25 minutes.
