Things to do in Atlantic City

Atlantic City is New Jersey's casino and boardwalk resort, reached from Port Authority by direct bus on Greyhound or OurBus in roughly two and a half to three hours, tickets typically $30-40 one way, or about two and a half hours by car. Casinos run 24 hours a day, but gambling floors and some areas require guests to be 21 or older.

The wooden Boardwalk runs along the beach and costs nothing to walk. The city has struggled economically since the 2010s, and several once-major casinos have closed for good, leaving stretches of the resort area visibly worn.

This is a mid-tier casino trip with rough edges close to the waterfront, not a Las Vegas-style night out, and a round trip of five hours or more makes it a long day or overnight, not a quick evening from New York.
